2026 Minnesota Steel Boys & Girls AAA Tryouts – Registration Open!
We are thrilled to announce the 2026 AAA Hockey tryouts for the Minnesota Steel Hockey Club: an elite program built to challenge, develop, and inspire the next generation of standout male & female hockey players.
The Minnesota Steel AAA program is built to challenge, develop, and inspire the next generation of hockey players. Our mission is simple: create complete players by developing every facet of the game from individual skills and positional play to team strategies and hockey IQ.
In 2025, Steel is opening a new location: MN Steel Northwest Metro (STMA Area) in addition to its current Southwest Metro location. This allows players from STMA, Buffalo, Rogers, Monticello, Delano, Elk River, and surrounding communities to practice locally while still being part of the full Steel experience — coming together to compete in highly competitive tournaments.
Our Coaching Philosophy
At Steel, we believe that progress in every detail adds up to great improvement. Every stride, every pass, every read matters and over time, those details shape players into smarter, faster, and more complete athletes.
Our program is designed so players can practice locally with their community while also playing with athletes of similar abilities, ensuring competitive balance, confidence, and development at every level.
We focus on:
-
Skills: skating, puck control, passing, and shooting fundamentals
-
Position-Specific Development: tailored training for forwards, defense, and goalies
-
Team Strategies: systems, communication, and game management
-
Hockey IQ: teaching athletes to think faster and make smarter decisions
We also value multi-sport athletes and design a flexible program that supports busy families. At older levels, our staff provides guidance with the college recruiting process to prepare athletes for the next step in their hockey careers.
If you're ready to compete at a higher level and grow in a championship-caliber culture, we invite you to showcase your skills at our upcoming tryouts.
